Once I was on a page with 4 (!) frames.
Then I clicked on a button and the main frame divided into yet another 4 frames!!!
Suddenly I had 7 tiny frames on my 640*480 screen !!

Frames are one of THOSE little HTML codes.

Had they remained anonymous and hidden and
unknown, kind of like the BORDER command, or
perhaps ALIGN, everything would be fine. But
no.
The sites that have only one frame box with
link graphics are usually okay. They still
are annoying, but at the very least they do
what frames are intended to do. I mean, the
WWW-StarTrek site has one frame and clicking
on a link removes the frame.
The WORST is those 10-frame sites, or the
ones that update a frame with a new picture
every few seconds forcing you to hit the back
button about 20 times to leave the site.

Frames?? Frames?? Frames are horrible... It is so frustrating waiting for frames to come up... It is so frustrating I fell like a bird trying to find a worm in astroturf.. Can you imagine anything anymore frustating?? I think frames should be banned from the net and that whoever created frames should have there computer permanantly in frames for all time even when he is off the net to show what they have cause us to go through.. They totally suck, especially the ones when you're
job surfing. The Virtual Job Fair and Career
Mosaic, if I recall, take forever to load, and
although they are useful sites, the frames are
extremely frustrating. They have to provide
instructions for users to "go back a
frame." Invariably, you end up having to reload
the whole fricking page, and it's a pain in the
ass with a 14.4 bps modem. Even at work, with
a T1 line, I don't surf them--because it takes
forever anyway to build, I don't want to get
caught in the middle of a "frame build" when
my boss creeps up behind me. Not having a job
would suck, but frames suck even worse!

I HAVE a T1 line and I still detest frames. They are absolutely the MOST annoying thing about the web. I don't care HOW good a site is, if there are frames I won't visit often.

Frames cost me $1000.00 of my own money.
I am new to the internet and it seemed every
time I log on to a site, they had thoes tiny
little frames. Every other day I had to go to
the drug store and buy stronger and stronger
glass just to read them. Now I am almost totaly
blind and had to get a seeing-eye-dog. The dog
was free, but it was the lesson to teach him
how to type and read for me that
made be broke.

I reckon that whitespace looks good.
It helps convey information information from a limited area more intuitively.
Frames just clutter up what little space there is on a browser page making it virtually impossible to 'take in' what the author wishes to present.

The frames are stupid, they divide your screen so that you can't see correctely what do you want... I see somes pages thaht have 4 and more frames...

I have a 57,600 bps modem. In most framed
sites, it slows down to what looks like about
4,800 bps. So, in conclusion...

Can you believe I spent 20 minutes the other
day trying to figure out how to get out of a
frame site. Finely said too heck with this,
shut down the browser and restarted. I also
made sure to write down the address to that
site to make sure I DON"T go back. I think
the inventor of "Frames" knows where he can
put "Frames". I won't say it here because
this is a family accessed site, but I think
you know what I'm trying to say.

not around informational text. If your page
is loaded with frames, it is therefore loaded
with pictures. If you have no information,
DELETE THE PAGE!!! Leave the bandwidth for

Frames are making more and more web pages unusable to thoselacking $3000 Pentium computers with endless RAM and Netscape 3.0, the buggiestsoftware around. Worst of all, they are making good old Lynxharder to use? Sure, no graphics, but that's what makes the WebSLOW! I still use Lynx, because that's all this system gives us.It's the text that interests me on the Web anyway, but these stinking frames block my accessto some of the best text on the Web!

Why???

Frames don't show up on older versions of Lynx, they crash and delay graphical browsers, and they split *my* browser window in ways I don't want it to.In short, they're yucky.
