Saying you should not use frames, is limiting your options when you are trying to create a solution when designing for the web media. There is a lot of crappy frame solutions, but there are just as many bad non frames designs out there. ...

For new or inexperienced Web designers, I stand by my original recommendation. Frames: Just Say No.
With respect to the use of frames by highly skilled Web designers, I have changed my opinion somewhat: people who really know what they are doing
can sometimes use frames to good effect, though even experienced designers are advised to use frames as sparingly as possible.

So for those of you out there who are inexperienced in Web Design.. go ahead and join this club.

Frames take already-small windows and slice themuntil there is only a tiny section that has content.Let's not forget what's really important online.Not what HTML skills you have, or whether or notyou can use the newest gizmo, but content. Themeat of the page, not the packaging. I have yetto see a site whose image and/or message was improved through the use of frames.

Frames are the newest scourge on mankind. They are both an evil plague and an annoying feature that slowly yet surely reduces space on my browser. If I ever rule the world, I will make sure all frames are sent to the same place that evil TV executives go.

well we may be your first actual organisation to join the club..as a webmaster i find frames a waste of html space and i hate having my page load in weird ways in different browsers...why disadvantage people who are using one browser or another?? apart from that i think i resent anything that forces people to use bill's mie3 to avoid seeing frames in chat sites etc..live long and prosper people..a great site ..i enjoyed reading the posts of others

hmm... well... I use a 4 Mbit direct line to internet.... Using NT4 on a Pentium 150Mhz with 64Mb memory .... running Netscape 4 (of course) ... and when I go to any page with frames... IT GOES SLOWER THAN SLOW!! What's wrong with this picture????! I'll tell you: Frames suxx so enormously that it makes me SICK!!!

Frames infringe on my right to Bookmark! How can I anyone figure out how to Bookmark a site that is within a frame?

HA! Frames. Waste of time, no good, frames! I hate em. They take too long to load. Takes forever to program, and don't see how people can use these things! I personally like the old fashon method of putting a gif, and have a link off of that, or just put a text link. Much simpler. I would like to take this gif and link it to every sight out there that is frames crazy! We have enough trouble initializing sound let alone some stupid frames! Keep the damn frames where they belong . Around a picture!

SOMEONE NEEDS TO DEVELOP A FRAME BOMB TO DESTROY PAGES WITH FRAMES. To see one of the worst frame pages I know of, go to netscapes site and surf around...there is this one area that keeps adding frame after frame after frame...and half of them are blank or don't show up. What kind of a moron would you have to be to put frames on your page????

They're awfull. My friends try to write these fancy looking web pages, they're naff, with this stupid little frame at the top, another one at the bottom, till you've got a widescreen webpage! There's really no need for the little buggers, you can do anything decent with a good borderless table :). Your logo will be on my next web page update.
