Frames suck..you said it all. But! I have seen a few good pages (key word FEW) that have made good use of frames so that the backbutton is not needed.
There is one thing that sucks more than frames...
the sites that add additional remote control windows

Hey, you know what? I've always wished that I could have an ISDN link for a PC with a Pentium II chip running at 300mhz and using 100 megs of RAM. Why? Because I thought that that must be what EVERYONE had because otherwise there'd be no such thing as frames! It doesn't make you cool to use frames! If your friends were jumping off a broken bridge would you do it? So why are you using frames, you sheep!

Frames make me feel so boxed in. Maybe I'm just being a square, but I was recently at a site that had frames everywhere and over a dozen animated gifs! I'm still reeling from the experience.

Frames. More deadly then cancer, more fatal then ebola. Above all else, they simply look crap.

Frames contaminate the atmosphere, can cause cancer, and if exposed to pregnant mothers, can cause the baby to be born deformed. There is a proven correlation between frames and juvenile crime, and many violet crimes are linked back to a history of either child abuse, or over exposure to frames.

In the short term, Frames can cause internal hemorraging, brain damage, and, if untreated, death. They will dull the reflexes, and can cause permenant damage to the cerebral cortex.

In a lab test, six rats were exposed to frames for twelve hours. When checked, five had died, the other had survived by knawing off it's own leg.
